The East Shropshire Talking Newspaper provides a free weekly service to blind and partially-sighted people across the area. Subscribers receive by post a USB memory stick containing news, features and interviews, and use a USB player which is provided if required, at no cost, on permanent loan. Volunteers edit, present, read, copy, pack and distribute the memory sticks. The newspaper is prepared in a recording studio kindly made available at the offices of the Shropshire Star in Ketley. The newspaper is now also online at https://eastshropshiretn.co.uk although many users do not have the use of a computer. The charity is funded entirely by voluntary gifts and donations which provide the equipment for recording, packing and running costs.
